Innovation Award Mentor Melissa Turney

Melissa Turney currently serves as Sales Manager for the Allen Tate Lake Norman office. In her position, she develops and coaches more than 75 successful agents and help expand the culture of Allen Tate. In her position, she partners with Branch Leader Angela Standish to lead the Allen Tate Lake Norman office.

A seasoned professional, Turney has worked in the real estate industry for 10 years, most recently as broker-in-charge of a boutique real estate firm in South Charlotte and previously as associate broker-in-charge with a luxury real estate firm in Cornelius. She is a licensed Realtor in both North and South Carolina, and holds the Certified Ally designation from the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance.

An active industry volunteer, she serves as a member of the Canopy Marketing and Communications Advisory Committee and is a member of the Strides for Shelter 5K Committee.

Prior to her real estate career, Turney managed the U.S. office of an offshore Mexican fish farm, and was sales and operations manager for a country club in Chapel Hill, N.C. She holds a bachelor of science degree in tourism management from North Carolina State University.

She is an active supporter of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, having served for the past 16 years. She currently serves as president of the Hough High School PTSA and president of the Hough High School Booster Club. Previous leadership roles include president of J.V. Washam Elementary PTO and vice president of Bailey Middle School PTSA.
